Hall of Famer and NFL Analyst, Deion Sanders, has been in a battle far more intense than anything he ever experienced on the grid iron. Deion claims that disparaging remarks posted by estranged wife, Pilar Sanders, have cost him between $500,000 and $750,000 in endorsements. “It damages when someone’s lying, especially about spousal abuse.” Deion exclaimed from the witness stand. “My income has gone down tremendously. I can’t afford this mess.” Furthermore, Deion is questioning Pilar’s true motives in regards to custody . Is she doing it to keep her children or to keep the child support checks coming?
When Pilar lost temporary custody of her two sons (maintaining custody of their daughter), she expressed her grief/ , “I am sad that Deion has been able to keep my boys away from me since Oct. 26 — no Halloween, no Thanksgiving — and now he is threatening to keep them away from me for Christmas. . . . He is using our innocent children as a pawn in this ugly, ugly divorce .” But Deion contended that “She didn’t abide by the rules of custody.” And it was this disobedience that cost her temporary custody and a reduction of $5,000 in monthly support payments. Despite this ongoing feud, Deion still claims that he wants his children to have a good relationship with their mother. He just wants primary custody. “They are going to be teenagers in a minute,” he testified. “I feel like they need their father.” The next chapter of this saga is scheduled to hit the courtroom this March.
