Lakers Star Steve Nash Won’t Pay Additional Child Support

Lakers star Steve Nash and his ex-wife, Alejandra Amarilla, are involved in a custody battle. Alejandra claims Steve will not let her move from Phoenix to Los Angeles just so that he can avoid paying child support, according to court documents. She said in December that Steve did not want her to move to Los Angeles with their three children and it was unclear why at the time.

Steve and Amarilla got married in 2005 and announced their plans to divorce shortly after the birth of their third child in 2010. TMZ reported last month that Steve did not want to pay support since his ex-wife had already received millions of dollars as part of their divorce settlement. Nash also reportedly provides funds for his children’s expenses, and according to TMZ, Steve is worried that Alejandra will spoil and damage the kids with crazy luxuries if he pays more.

An Arizona judge has already ruled that Alejandra is not entitled to child support. If the adjusted incomes of both parents are roughly equal, then no child support is required under Arizona law. However if she were to move to California, she would have another chance to get child support from Nash. For the moment, a judge has issued a restraining order, barring her from relocating to Los Angeles, TMZ says.
