Reggae Singer Mr. Vegas in Child Custody Dispute
Dancehall Reggae singer, Mr. Vegas, had his child custody case postponed once again when the mother of his two-year-old daughter failed to show up in court for the third time. The case is being heard at the Bronx County Family Court in New York and has been continued until September 17. An arrest warrant was issued for missing mother, Shellian McBayne, by New York law enforcement last month and remains in effect.
Mr. Vegas says the next court appearance will be the one-year mark since he last laid eyes on his daughter. He told IRIE FM on Wednesday that not being able to see his daughter has weighed heavily on his mind.
“That’s gonna be like one year with me not seeing my daughter” he said. “That somewhat takes a toll and will take a toll on any responsible father who wants to know the whereabouts of his children. It’s just one of those situations where you try to handle it the best way, but one year without seeing your child is totally ridiculous.”
His child custody case was started after an October 2012 incident in which Shellian was caught having sex with another man in Mr. Vegas’s Florida home. She was allegedly intimate with the other man in the presence of the two-year-old daughter she has with Mr. Vegas.
