Billy Skinner
Senior Attorney II
Billy has been a practicing attorney since 2007 and is passionate about helping ordinary people when they need it the most. With a vast array of law experience he has been the lead attorney on more than 30 jury trials in State and Federal Court. Billy’s jury trial experience includes a wide variety of cases from felony murder, Medicare-Medicaid fraud, protection orders, and a myriad of criminal law, and family law trials. Billy recently made the transition to the beautiful state of Colorado from Texas in Summer of 2023. Prior to the move to Colorado, he ran his own practice, the Law Offices of Billy Skinner, for 14 years. Billy’s practice in Texas focused primarily on Criminal Defense and standing up for his clients, their livelihood, and their families. Prior to Law School, he worked in Advertising and Marketing and taught as an Adjunct Professor at St. Edward’s University in Austin, TX.
Billy is an honest and direct attorney. He is compassionate for his clients and understands the tough decisions and challenges that each client must face when trying to navigate through a family law case. Billy focuses on learning his clients’ goals and creating strategies in hopes of getting his clients to a better position while protecting their best interests along the way. Having Billy on your side means you have someone standing with you and for you during a challenging time. This is when having the right person by your side should matter to you the most and matters most to Billy as well.
Education – Billy received his BA in Journalism and Advertising & MA in Mass Communication from Stephen F. Austin State University. He completed a JD from South Texas College of Law in Houston, Texas in May 2006.
What you may not know: Billy is vegan and meditates. Prior to moving to Colorado, he raced Dirt Track Modified Cars. He enjoys riding his bike, walking, running, and adventuring with his family’s Aussiedoodle, CoCo. He loves spending time and playing sports with his sons; two are in college (one in Iowa, one in Texas), and has a 6th grader. Billy also enjoys cooking and exploring new restaurants.
